2D coins are common and undertake no additional tooling on a die. This is cheaper to make and can be colored. You can easily see in our image here that the coin is without any full raises and everything sits flat on a coin. This leaves out the 3^rd dimension completely but a coin can still be wonderful without it.

Pros:

• Cheaper to produce
• Can be painted to match any design
• Be done on virtually every coin

Cons:

• Lacks a sense of style

Overall we don’t have complaints about doing 2D, in fact our 2D coins are some of the best in the world hands down. If you got a great design with lots of color it should be done in 2D.
