USNCC003 U.S. Navy Mobile Construction BN 15 Challenge Coin

Also known as the NMCB-15, The 15th Naval Construction Battalion was commissioned on July, 20 1942 at Camp Allen, Virginia. This is a sea-bees coin from the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion. The US Navy Mobile construction BN 15 served during World War II with distinction and honors. These brave men built advance base camps and airfields all over the Pacific.  According to a legend, a Marine commander based in the Pacific praised BN15’s hard work and said that they are "going like a bat out of hell."  This soon became their motto although the logo was developed after the war. The US Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 15 is made up of brave men and women from ten detachments in five states. The states are Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. This colorful coin is in 4 colors of yellow, red, blue and gold/bronze. On one side, you will see the logo of an anchor and on the other side is their famous emblem. Salute these brave men and women by wearing their logo on your chest!
