I'm tired.

Those bastards that took me everywhere around the world to fuel their planes, let them call home, or even watch CNN in their tents never have even repaid me with a ride in a jet. I know so many that have gone up in those things it's not even funny. Just for re-enlisting they were given a free ride sorta say.

I remember when I was an E-3 and sent out to Hill AFB to full F-15E's while they were testing a new armament system and they offered 9 slots for those that went out and supported the mission. I was number 9 even though I let them reach 30,000ft every mission with the fuel service I provide. I mean I kicked ass on the flightline and everyone knew it. My day came up and then boom. They told me as I entered the hangar that the Major (a flying one) was taking my spot since it was the last mission. This man flew for 2 years with the squadron and still took it.

I was pissed about it as they made me refuel that jet twice. Once when he went up and once when he came down. I asked on both of my re-enlistments to get one and was denied both times. I want in on one of these jets. I have given a lot to the Air Force I swear when I make CMSgt in a few years they will give me one whether they like or not. Someone will take me joy riding in a F-22 if I have my way.

I had a ton of fun for the time I have been in. I just wanted to share that with everyone.

I did get to go up in ne of the Coast Guard Helo's and one of the Falcons while I was in the Coast Guard, but a few days after my Helo ride, I decided I did not want to ride in one again, least not with the Air crew that was with us, But I would not been able to anyway, they crashed the Helo on deck....

That would be cool to get a ride in a jet.  Didn't realize it was used as an incentive or award.

I got to land on an aircraft carrier in a C-2 and always felt like I missed out by not getting catapulted off one.  I transferred while we were in port, and you only get a cat shot if leaving while underway.  I also got a ride in a Chinook to leave my FOB on our way home from Iraq.  That was anti-climatic.  Not nearly as exciting as I figured a helicopter ride would be.  And I flew in Air Force C-130's & a KC-10.  One of the C-130's landing gears caught fire.  That was pretty cool.  But never really even dreamed of flying in a jet.

I think I would rather have a ride then to be zoomed by one. Don't know what you guys call it but when I am mowing my yard and one comes up behind me flying very low I call it zooming. Along with a fast trip to the bathroom Smiley

I miss living near Naval Air Stations and Air Force Bases where I could watch them fly over my home like it was nothing special.  I don't get that any more.  However, I did see my first V-22 Osprey the other week.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-22_Osprey

It was the first time I ever saw one and it zoomed directly over my house.  It is the only military plane I have seen flyover here.  I've seen a couple helicopters, but never a plane or jet until this one.  I guess it is a plane and helicopter all in one.

Back in the 80's while stationed near Peace AFB I got to see a formation of Bombers fly over.  To high to be from Peace though.  Went up to White Mountain, and looked down to see 2 Fighter Aircraft flying through the Valley.
