When they aren’t serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other less than desirable places around our globe they are hitting the courts around USAFE. The Aviano Dragons from Aviano AB, Italy were looking for a bit of support to get them dressed to play around the European theater and turned to our company. They play tournaments and games from Italy to Germany and the surrounding areas. The coaches new that reaching out for possible support could help them reach their goals of getting the right uniforms for their players. As funds for sports dwindle along with the Air Force budget for such activities it becomes harder to get the right stuff for your team.
They were in need of some new court wear so we offered to cover a large portion of their uniform budget for the 2010 season which included home, away, and warm-up gear. U.S. Challenge Coins turned to their uniform makers to see what we could make happen for these gentlemen and get them outfitted properly. About 5 weeks after their request for support we were able to get the new uniforms out in the mail for them so they can play the rest of the season in style and carry the uniforms into the next season.
The guys on the Aviano base basketball team were highly appreciative of the support we gave them and we are proud to be able to give back what we can for the team. It’s not every day we get the opportunity to give back to such activities. We look forward to future chances to give them more so they can continue their success around Europe.
